Chapter
22

Often God would use different things that we could see to strengthen our Faith in the things we couldn’t see. Early on in our grief, I remember Elna and I crying in agony in our bedroom one day. The grief was so heavy that we wondered if we could take another breath. The weight was just so heavy. Then in the middle of our bedroom on the top of our sofa in that room we were blessed with a lizard. It was just a simple 4- or 5-inch green lizard just staring at us. Our house was always super clean, and the doors were never left open to the outside. However occasionally at odd low points of our grief, we would see a lizard. Now I know that the lizard wasn’t an angel, and it certainly wasn’t Jackson. However, God would use lizards often to put them at particular junction points in our life when we needed to turn our eyes on God and His power and sovereignty over our life. God’s just awesome that way.
